Can you convince Maxson to spare Danse?
You can choose to be persistent and refuse to eliminate Danse. If your Charisma rating is high enough, you can attempt to persuade Danse with friendly dialogue. If your persuasion succeeds, then Danse will agree to hand over his holotags willingly.
Can you keep Danse If you side with the institute?
If you're just doing the story leading up to joining the Institute then Danse is still available as a companion but your companions don't teleport with you into the Institute when you visit.

You can however make... or rather force, Paladin Danse out of his Power Armor on PC through the developer console. He has been noted as coming out of his Power Armor as a "Naked Slenderman" or something to that effect BUT after going to sleep he returns to normal and you can have his Armor.

Yes, you will be able to. I just did the same playthrough with the minutemen and both BoS and Railroad are alive and well. I even did the brotherhood quests past blind betrayal and Danse is still a companion.
