Can you put the robber on the desert?

The Robber must be moved when a 7 is rolled and can be placed back on the desert. The person moving the robber must steal a card from a player adjacent to the robber if possible. (They can move the robber so they can't steal, but they can't choose not to steal if there is someone adjacent to the placement.)

Can I place a settlement anywhere in Catan?

Yes. You may build new roads or settlements anywhere that you have already built to. You do not need to be able to trace a route back to where you began the game.

Can you put the knight on the desert in Catan?

If you move the robber to the desert because you rolled a “7” or played a Knight Card: yes.

Where does dessert go in Catan?

Discard desert The desert token is a boring tile in most games of Catan. While it can add a risk factor to playing a settlement on the adjacent resource, it often is avoided until later in the game. This custom rule completely removes it from the board in favour of a low probability tile with a different resource.

Can I put a settlement between two roads?

Perfectly valid play. Even more, you can play a settlement between two of another player's roads (as long as you respect the distance rule and you also have a road leading to that intersection).

Kenneth Stuart. You can place your starting settlements pretty much anywhere you want. You just have to obey the distance rule and ensure you place your settlement at a hex intersection.

Can the robber go back to the desert Catan?

Based on a full reading of the Catan Annotated Rules, it appears to me that if you use a Knight to move the Robber, you cannot move the Robber back to the Desert. token of any other terrain hex. Implication: since the Desert does not get a number token, the Robber cannot be moved to the Desert by the Knight.

Can you build a settlement where the robber is?

To clarify: this means that you can't place a road, settlement or city next to the robber. When we play, city improvements and the merchant are unaffected. On the rare occasion we combine with seafarers, we say the robber prevents land building, and the pirate prevents ship building/movement.

Can you have 3 roads between settlements?

Yes. Both players who possess roads into an intersection have the option of building the third road out, regardless of whether a settlement is there or whose it is.

How many deserts are there in Catan?

One desert is included in the base game, and two more are added in Seafarers. There is also a special desert oasis hex in Traders and Barbarians.

Can you give away a card in Catan?

You may trade as many times as you can, using single or multiple cards. However, you cannot give away cards, or trade matching resources (“trade” 3 ore for 1 ore, for example).

How close can you build a settlement in Catan?

two intersections awayThat rule states that settlements must be at least two intersections away from any other settlement or city. In other words, settlements cannot be built one space away from another settlement or city.

Can you build a settlement and a city in the same turn?

2.4 Players are allowed to upgrade a settlement to a city in the same turn it is built. To do that, the player cannot have five settlements on the board before building the settlement the player wants to upgrade.

Does a settlement block longest road?

The settlement blocks your road if it appears at the end of your road, that is if one of your roads comes off it. If it is in the middle of your road, so that there are two of your roads coming off it, you can keep building at both ends, but the settlement splits the road in two when counting for longest road.

Can you build a settlement next to your own settlement?

No. If you build a new road, it must always connect to one of your own roads, settlements, or cities. In the situation depicted above, the blue player would not be connecting his road piece to his own road but to the red player's settlement, which the rule prohibits.
