Can you store items in containers Fallout 4?
MOST containers are perfectly safe. All containers you make with the workshop ARE safe. However, I wouldn't store items for long in instanced areas just in case. The Quarry area in particular, I lost all the items I stored there during my siege upon the place after the water drains out.

Go to the sanctuary, pick a settler give him/her an outfit you can remember. Trade items with the chosen settler and give him everything you need to move to the castle, im sure they got a limit on how much they can carry but they can infact carry more then you can.
