In order to get deposits of purified water, you must have a surplus of water in Sanctuary (or other Settlement), best done with a water purifier connected to a generator that is placed near the water to be material-efficient, along with a few normal pumps. I've had 3 purifiers and 8 pumps.

How often do settlements get purified water in Fallout 4?

According to the Fallout 4 wikia: Every 24 hours, a settlement with a non-zero population will produce 1 purified water per unit of water production.

Do I need a water purifier for every settlement?

You need a ton of water purifiers. Keep in mind, if supply routes are connected to that settlement, the water produced there will help to cover all linked supply routes. To be safe, make sure your water farms aren't producing water for settlements that aren't holding up their end of the deal! I don't have Supply Lines.

How do I get purified water?

The Settlers' required water and some randomness determine what you'll get on each 'shipment'. It is possible to get dozens of Purified Water each time you visit Sanctuary and other Settlements, so long as enough time has passed for it to spawn and you have made adequate water pumps.

Can settlers grab weapons?

Yeah, settlers can grab stuff from any container they can reach. But they will only ever grab weapons/ammo, and only if they are under attack, and it is better than what they have equipped.

How often does purified water come into the workshop?

Purified water is added to the workshop inventory when the settlement update timer activates every 24 in-game hours (72 real minutes, if the player character doesn't accelerate the passage of in-game time by sleeping). Entering workshop mode at a settlement pauses the update timer for that settlement, while in-game time continues to pass, so the exact time of the update tends to shift at settlements that undergo construction.

What is the settlement timer?

The settlement timer also controls when drinkable items are consumed from the workshop at the settlement, at a rate of 1 per human population. This consumption takes place before the purified water is deposited at some settlements, and after deposit at others.

Can you farm water for caps?

Purified water can be farmed as a great source of caps, due to its unlimited supply.

Does Fallout 4 have water?

Unlike the bottled water featured in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, the water in Fallout 4 either comes in cans or cartons. There is a random encounter in which the Sole Survivor will encounter a water beggar and will have the option to give the beggar some purified water to ease their thirst.

What happens if your daily production is above 10?

If your daily production (the 'water' value displayed in workshop mode) is above 10, your settlement would only produce water for one day, then stops, because the limit has been reached. But, it will only check wether this limit has been reached every day, so for example if you have 10 industrial purifiers, your settlement will produce 10*40=400 ...

Is there a cap on how much water one settlement will produce over time?

So yes, there is a cap on how much water one settlement will produce over time, but more water purifiers will reward you with more water.

Mr. House will pay you 1000 caps for the Platinum Chip that makes or breaks his entire future, but 2000 caps for a snow globe you found in the dirt

Something is up with these damn snow globes, they have to have a higher purpose.

Fallout 3 doesn't get enough credit for its sense of humor

I was playing through Raven Rock today, and as I was walking in the crawlspace underneath the Mess Hall I came upon a huge pile of small forks and spoons lying on the ground. At first I was puzzled, but then I looked up and saw the floor texture of the Mess Hall was made of metal grates with big gaps in them.

I think that Bethesda was over reliant on common, bottom tier weapons in Fallout 4

By bottom tier weapons I mean the pipe guns and institute lasers. Their equivalents in 3, the .32 pistol, chinese pistol, and arguably the hunting rifle, always felt like only a portion of the enemy's arsenal. They'd also use the good weapons on you, even at relatively low levels.

Fallout New Vegas would be a perfect remaster!

You can't possibly tell me, that if Fallout New Vegas got a remaster it wouldn't be a perfect game.
