In Total War: Warhammer II, armies can treasure hunt in ruined settlements. Most provinces have a capital settlement and from 1-3 minor settlements. Minor settlements have only 4 building slots, and can only upgrade to level III. Province capitals (major settlements) have more building slots, and can upgrade all the way to level V.

Hi there, I am playing the mortal empire campaign with Ikit Claw from Clan Skryre and trying to colonize the city of Magritta, which has been destroyed and is only a ruin.

Hi, I'm a n00b, and I was wondering if somebody could clear up some confusion I had. I've been playing on easy because I'm a scrub and it's my first time playing a Total War game, and the enemy keeps razing settlements. I looked it up, and people were saying that you can rebuild settlements, but when I try it says that I can't because I'm the wrong race.

Do all factions have a legendary lord?

EVERY faction, regardless of size or importance, has a "legendary" lord. Or, in the case of minor factions, a default lord that features in the diplomacy screen as their faction leader. Now, all factions' starting "legen dary" lords are immortal. They can be wounded but not permanently killed.

Can you lose Legendary Lords?

This is the same for the Legendary Lords of your own faction, you can never lose them permanently.

Can humans colonize ruins?

You have to actually take a army to the ruins and "attack" it. Note however that some ruins can only be settled by certain races. Humans can't colonize dwarven, chaos, or greenskin but can colonize human and vampire count ruins. Good point about the races forgot about that.

So long as you have the funds and patience for it, you can resettle pretty much the entire world even if it has been completely burnt to ashes around you. If there is nothing left but a single city of yours and everything else is destroyed, you are still able to resettle everywhere that you are normally able to.

Empire & VC can colonize: ALL human provinces except Norscan tribes. This means anything held by Empire provinces, Bretonnia and the VC are fair game. Dwarf, Greenskin and Norscan towns cannot be settled in. Dwarfs and GS can colonize: Each others' provinces and nothing else.
