Dear mods, can we please allow memes again? This place is getting stale

Elders of the Brotherhood, hear my plea. I love Fallout, just like you and many others here. But this sub is getting repetitive. It’s mostly new fans coming in and making the same old observations and arguments. Not to mention the ever popular “Should I play Fallout X or Y” post.

Fallout 4 just broke my heart and i don't know how to deal with it

Was walking around Boston when i saw a radio tower. So I went there and turn it on. In this moment i found the Miller family radio station. The station was a prerecorded message saying that a family was trap in a bunker almost out of air, and asking for help. So, out of emotion, I run off to find them just above a scrappyard full of super mutant.

As someone who massively prefers New Vegas by a large margin, Fallout 3 really does a great job at letting you be an asshole, more than people give it credit for

In New Vegas, you can join possibly the most evil faction in the series, Caesars Legion. They rape, pillage, crucify, enslave, and mutilate people. You can do evil things and the world reacts accordingly.

Skyrim ruined Fallout 4 for me

Up until last year, Fallout 4 was the only BGS game I had ever played. I picked up Skyrim on sale in December 2019 and started playing early 2020. The freedom the game gave me was just immeasurable. I stopped playing FO4 entirely after Skyrim because there was just so much to do and so many playthroughs to be had.

Why do people on this sub only talk about which Fallout game is the best?

I mean don't get me wrong, comparisons between different games in a franchise is not bad at all. The problem is that (almost) EVERY post I see on this sub is just comparisons, comparisons, comparisons.

How many expansion packs are there in SS1?

One other thing. Ss1 has 3 expansion packs; Industrial revolution, rise of the commonwealth, and conqueror. Which is better: Ss1 or Ss2?

Ss2 has more features, and will of course be the one getting updated going forward. But, it's features are locked behind the quest, and if you don't care about that it you could do without. But Ss2 does allow you to skip the quest and just get straight to the building, so it's not too big a deal. On the other hand, Ss1 has more supporting mods, like building plans, city plans, etc.

Is Sim Settlements 1 still available?

Sim Settlements 1 is a fantastic mod, and definitely still viable, but it's also important to keep in mind that it has older, jank code, and that was one of the big reasons for Sim Settlements 2 being created. It also won't be getting any further content updates. Additionally, a lot of the addon developers for Sim Settlements have already made the transition to SS2, and that's a trend that's likely to continue, so what addons are already out for SS1 is likely to be all you get.

Do Sim settlements have quests?

The old Sim Settlements also had quests, but you had to install a ton of expansions and add-ons to get to the same versatility of Sim Settlements 2

Does SS2 have quests?

As far as SS2 goes, it does use quests for things. However, that's mostly optional. There are "cheat" settings you can activate to unlock all of the content that's hidden behind quests if that's not something you're into, and you don't strictly need any of the unique settlers to build your cities. That said, the story content has a lot of polish, and really ties the mod features into the base game, so even if you're not really looking for a quest mod, it might be worth trying it. If nothing else, at least going through the first few quests will give you an introduction to how the mod plays, which can be helpful if you have no past experience.
