A federal court in California approved a settlement in a class action relating to claims Fitbit lied to consumers that its wearable devices can track sleep quality. The court also awarded $7 million in attorney fees to class counsel.

The lawsuit claims that Fitbit made false and misleading statements about its heart rate monitoring technology. The technology was inaccurate and inconsistent, the lawsuit claimed, and as such represented a serious health risk to users.Apr 23, 2018
