Can you beat Colter without the water gun?
It is possible to defeat Overboss Colter without using the Thirst Zapper but instead with critical damage through V.A.T.S or Overdrive. However, doing so does not prompt any special dialogues regarding the player character's method from any NPC later on.

Make Overboss Colter feel pain by using the squirt gun on him. It takes 4-7 shots with the thirst zapper to bring the Overboss' shield down. It's very random and may be down a few seconds or even longer. Do not use VATS for this, save that for when the shield is down to slow time and give you more time to lay into him.

The inner door opens first, followed by the hatch opening. While painted in the prelude, the Vault door is rusted and dull after the Great War. There was also a security checkpoint, a feature that most other Vaults lacked. Most of the other rooms in Vault 111 include a reactor room, a recreational area for Vault staff and the overseer's office. The Vault is significantly smaller as compared to other Vault-Tec Vaults, due to the nature of the experiment.

Walkthrough
There are a series of rooms with raiders that will ask questions related to the Fallout series, mixed with rooms of general enemies (e.g. radroaches) When the incorrect answer is given, the raiders will turn hostile and will try to make the vault dweller (s) "lose their heads."
