Can you keep Danse If you side with the institute?
If you're just doing the story leading up to joining the Institute then Danse is still available as a companion but your companions don't teleport with you into the Institute when you visit.

According to Elder Maxson, Paladin Danse is actually an Institute Synth in disguise and needs to be executed. Unfortunately, Danse has disappeared but Proctor Quinlan might have a way to track him down.

You can choose to be persistent and refuse to eliminate Danse. If your Charisma rating is high enough, you can attempt to persuade Danse with friendly dialogue. If your persuasion succeeds, then Danse will agree to hand over his holotags willingly.

To keep Danse as a full companion following the main story one must either side with the Brotherhood, or side with the Minutemen and choose not to become enemies with the Brotherhood of Steel.
